UPVC Replacement Door Handles
Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and need to be changed. It is crucial to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.
The top screw's location, the lever and the keyhole sizes are the three measurements you need to verify. Refer to the size guide for help with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in various styles and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of tough materials and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a robust design. The handles are inline and run from the same spindle and screw fixings, so they are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The handle can be positioned and angled to suit all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles, this will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can be cut to fit the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles found on most doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, inline or offset. They are usually used on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and finishes.
The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200k cycles and are available in several finishes including White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.
All UPVC levers for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.
When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the dimensions of the PZ on both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also referred to as 'handle centres or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.
Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the lever and push pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we offer are spring-loaded. This means that they will return to a horizontal position when not being used instead of hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from getting into a house. You will also find that the majority of UPVC lever pad handles are handed which allows you to place them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by a key which unlocks the cylinder case. This reveals pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock, and permit them to rotate the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with internal and external doors usually requiring different levels of security.
The selection of a cylinder is vital. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security while doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure it's the correct size for your door. upvc replacement door handles must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, should there be one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is important that it's not too long.
The design of many modern cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help deflect the attack, and keep your door safe.
There are cylinders that have been designed to withstand snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is targeted with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a burglary, which can hinder an insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle's backplate, providing a spring solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was removed. This component is the best solution to fix this problem. It also stops your door from getting stuck in either the closed or open position as they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes have been specifically made for use with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution for damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are available as a single unit. They have a square-cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
These spring cassettes are a fantastic cost-effective solution to the issue of door handles that are sagging. They are easy to fit and will increase the life span of your uPVC doors.
